I think the reason it is lessened on the HJ14 is that they are equipped with ALAC, so that along with the flare files would certainly reduce the chromatic Aberration you are seeing.
It would be interesting to see how you set your flare files up Martyn.

Re: PMW 500 - What lens do you use/recommend
I use both an HJ17 and an HJ11 on my 500 Finbo.
Personally I love my 17, it breathes a bit but its a dream handheld being heaps lighter and more compact than the 11.
The 11 tends to only come out when I REALLY need it now.

Re: PMW500 Manual focus assist
Ah ok, so it must be a false colour thing then, which explains why I've not even come across it on mine.
That manual is utterly hopeless isnt it! Half explains stuff that you might need, fully explains what you dont and ignores the crucial stuff!

Re: SD card file structure on 350
I wouldnt do anything to any part of the file structure. If they were to use XDCam Browser can they not automatically send it to FCP7 from there anyway? Changes to the file structure count very high among the problems that post facilities are having with file based cameras. I know of one company who...

Re: PMW500 Manual focus assist
Nothing to do with EZ mode Robin...I didnt even know there was an EZ mode on the 500!
Works for me, I have it assigned to my lens return button and switch 0 on the camera.
Is it maybe because you use the digital extender?

Re: V1.2 Upgrade - Battery Problem
It just says "Battery Error" In the meantime we have discovered that it seems to only be a problem if one uses Swit Di_Bas batteries. All other types of Swit are OK, as are IDX and PAG 96e. The workaround has been to disconnect the centre three pins on an IDX v-mount plate and that way the...

V1.2 Upgrade - Battery Problem
Hello forum, A couple of colleagues have upgraded to the V1.2 software on their PMW500's and have discovered that since doing so their cameras throw up an error when using Swit batteries. IDX and Pag seem fine but presumably there is a handshake going on between the other brands that isnt happening ...
